Born in Jamaica and raised between London and Stoke-on-Trent, Johntay blends island soul with UK edge to create a sound that’s bold, honest and full of purpose. A natural performer from childhood, she grew up dancing and acting through school and college, but everything shifted in 2018 when she began writing her own music. Since then, she’s released two EPs and seven singles, each one marking a new chapter in her evolution.
Her voice and presence have carried her to stages across multiple UK cities, and she’s also stepped into hosting — becoming a standout presenter for the acclaimed live music platform Honey Box Live.
Alongside her music, Johntay has built an impressive portfolio as a screen performer, appearing as an extra in productions including Talamasca, Sister Boniface, Adultery, Codename, A Woman of Substance, Beamish, Diesel, Frank and Louis, Lady Grace Mysteries, Blueberry Inn, and Testament.
